It
was a crazy week last week as we celebrated all of the staff members at my
kids' school. A wonderful friend of mine and I did quite a bit for our
staff members last week to honor all of the things they do for all of the kids.
On Monday, we cleaned the staff lounges, and yes that is plural.
Our elementary school is large enough to have two buildings, which means two
staff lounges! I have to say that took longer than I thought it would,
and we still decided to decorate the doors to the staff lounges. We were there all day, but had a blast. I have
to say being creative was the fun part, definitely not the cleaning part! :)
We got so many compliments on these doors, and that made it all worth it.
Wednesday was note day. Write notes to your teachers or staff members to tell them how much they mean to you. So we had the kids write notes on big sheets of paper, and here's what they turned into...

We created the Lorax at the building with the younger kids, K-3. This was hit when they figured out they signed the stache. The older kids signed the large sheets with how much the staff meant to them. Then we added the rock, who had a personality of his own, and U ROCK!!
I help run the student council for our older kids, 4-6, and our kids came up with the dessert bar idea, and here is how it turned out...
(This is currently set up in my office, not staff lounge, that would be weird if there was a hockey stick in the back ground). Seven glass jars of various sizes, some lined with school related paper, and topped off with a ribbon. Little chalk signs finished off the look, and they were filled with goodies for the teachers and staff, muffins, cookies, licorice, and candies.
Last, but not least on Friday chocolate bars were delivered to every staff member, and not just any chocolate bars, we had to dress them up a little. Cute saying, with a student council thank you, plus we had all the student council kids sign the wrapper. Wallah!! Here's how it turned out...
What a wonderful week to celebrate all of the staff members that make our kids' school the best it can be! A special thanks to my partner in crime for all her help with this. Without her creativity and time, we couldn't have pulled together these special things!
Happy Creating
