Easy Laundry Decor on a Dime

Feels good to get back into the swing of salvaging, creating, and decorating, after almost a month off we are ready to get back to it.  The laundry room was in much need of some decorating, and like most of us we are on a budget.

Here's how the whole room turned out, and we totally changed the look and feel of this room with some very simple to create items. I might actually want to do laundry now?!?  Maybe!

We made these signs with our favorite cheap decor item, pallet wood.  Printed out the letters on the silhouette, and hand-painted the Wash and Fold signs.  For the Dry sign we went to the local craft store and purchased the letters then painted them black.  We attached them with some wood glue, added twine, and for pennies you have easy handcrafted decor.

A salvaged old wash board and inexpensive metal sign

We created this shelf with brackets from an antique shop and a couple of pieces of 1x4 cut to our desired length.

We fashioned this board out of a salvaged cabinet door, painted it white, and added our clothes pins, change jar, and old hardware for hooks.

An old ironing board gets outfitted with a couple of copper baskets that are wired on, and are perfect for holding all sorts of items from wash rags to detergent.

And last but certainly not least is my favorite design.  We created this custom valance to perfectly fit our window, and created this hand-painted saying to complete the room.

Thanks to all of you who follow us on Facebook!  We posted a picture of our treasure hunt finds this week, and used that cool old iron as a decoration on our shelf with the antiqued hardware.  What a perfect find this week!

Laundry room is checked off the to-do list, and it looks great for just pennies, let us know what you think!
